On September 5, the second edition of the European AI for health conference took place in Palais de Tokyo. This conference brings together various ecosystems involved in digitization of the healthcare sector, including research institutes, start-ups and large companies. The edition of this year focused on three major challenges we are facing today:
-data, security and ethics
-the hospital of the future and care pathways
-AI for health: public health and human development
During the entire day presentations were given on various stages and round table discussions were held with key players from different European ecosystems.
The Netherlands was represented in the “demo zone” with five Dutch AI & health start-ups. Below a brief overview of the start-ups:
Wavy assistant is “the smart partner for your heart”. Wavy assistant delivers continuous real-time heart health monitoring using smartwatches and AI solutions. After a patient’s data is collected and analyzed, Wavy can provide personal advice and possibly warn a relative or a doctor.
Kidney patients have very complicated dietary restrictions. That is why RenalTracker offers kidney patients tools to measure and advise on their nutritional intake. Using the application, RenalTracker links the collected data to a kidney nurse, dietician or doctor.
iThrive is an application that helps people reducing their daily stress. The app offers a behavior change training in the form of an online personal AI-driven coach.
The AI research company Deepdee makes it possible to diagnose eye diseases at an early stage by processing fundus images. Deepdee can support eye doctors with three common diseases: diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration.
Aidence brings together radiologists, developers, scientists and hospitals to build Veye Chest. Veye Chest is an AI solution that enables highly accurate medical image analysis of, for example, lung images.
